GOLD7 - Gold
$ 675.00 (=~ ¥ 99642.49) SOLD NET
Near Santa Elena, Venezuela
thumbnail - 1.2 x 1.0 x .9 CM

This is a beautiful, ultra Bright Gold. It radiates in thick crystals. It was found in the summer of 2010 in the jungles of Venezuela. In this area, they also mine diamonds. It is a very dangerous area of the world with problems with kidnapping, and violence. This particular specimen was by far the brightest of any of the numerous specimens I have seen, coming into the country in the last year. This piece is a spectacular thumbnail, that sits up well by itself, and resembles a "lotus flower."

It weighs 3.0 grams.

LEPIDOLITE1 - Tourmaline on Quartz with Lepidolite
$ 95.00 (=~ ¥ 14023.76) SOLD
Pederneira Mine, Sao Jose Da Safira, Minas Gerais, Brazil
thumbnail - 2.7 x 2.9 x 2.8 cm

Two double terminated gem Tourmalines are slightly embedded in Quartz. Beneath them, are bright pink Lepidolite crystals also perched on clear quartz. Some of the Lepidolite is fully included inside the Quartz. The Pederneira Mine produced an amazing pocket of gem pink Lepidolite with apple green gem tourmalines. This may be from that same pocket (not sure), however it is a fine example for the price.

$ 99.00 (=~ ¥ 14614.23) SOLD
Miandrivazo Province, Madagascar
thumbnail - 4.3 x 1.3 x 1.1 cm

This is an excellent example of the limited find of prismatic Quartz crystals with small blue Fluorite crystals included within them. All of the crystals found, were in frosty Quartz, such that polishing really enabled a proper view at what these extraordinary. This is a bright crystal, with the fluorites well positioned in over 60% of the crystal. It is nicely balanced.

QUARTZ14 - Quartz var. Amethyst phantom
$ 65.00 (=~ ¥ 9595.20) SOLD
Ambatofinandrana, Madagascar
small cabinet - 5.5 x .9 x .9 cm

This unusual example of Quartz phantom exhibits a rare habit: the phantoms alternate purple/black/purple/black as they travel through the Quartz crystal. This came from one small pocket about two years ago.

There is a near invisible micro Wilbur beneath the termination, seen with a loop only on one of the three termination faces.

DANBURITE3 - Danburite with Chalcopyrite
$ 135.00 (=~ ¥ 19928.50) SOLD
Charcas, San Luis Potosi, Mexico
cabinet - 11 x 6 x 5.5 cm

It is hard to find a good cluster of Danburite. Usually we see them as single crystals, and occasionally as large clusters, usually damaged. This cluster is quite aesthetic as the crystals shoot off in many directions. Near the base of the crystals are reflective Chalcopyrites. Danburite is found in a Tin Mine in Mexico. The miners that bring them out are apparently quite rough with them, as seen by very common damage. This piece is in good shape overall. the largest 15 crystals are fully intact, there is a stub or two, but you have to look for them.

SPINEL3 - Blue Spinel in calcite with Mica
$ 125.00 (=~ ¥ 18452.31) SOLD
Rift Valley Province, Kenya
small cabinet - 7.3 x 7.1 x 4.3 cm

This is a large specimen showing over a dozen blue Spinels embedded in calcite, and contrasted by scattered sheets of mica. This piece really shows the layer well. It's in good condition, and some of the crystals are very gemmy.

DATOLITE1 - Datolite with Quartz
$ 65.00 (=~ ¥ 9595.20)
Dalnegorsk, Primorskij Kraj, Russia
miniature - 4.4 x 3.7 x 2.8 cm

This bright twinned Datolite is perched alongside a cluster of Quartz crystals. Many Datolites from this location are either dark and blocky or so light in color as to seem invisible. This example has a slight green tint. Some of the quartz crystals have broken off, but the centerpiece is the Datolite, which is in great shape (very tiny chipping along an edge, seen with loupe).

$ 95.00 (=~ ¥ 14023.76) SOLD

large cabinet - 20.5 x 17 x 2.6 cm

This curious piece is a neat contrast between flat black Shale and an embedded bright golden Pyrite Sphere.

$ 235.00 (=~ ¥ 34690.35)
Dara Ismael Khan District, Waziristan, Pakistan
cabinet - 13.3 x 4.8 x 4.3 cm

This spectacular Faden Quartz is an excellent example from the original find in Pakistan. I grabbed this piece along with a few other fine examples from an italian dealer who was the first broker of this find about 12 years ago. It shows the white stripe of the "thread" (in German: Faden) well, it has great clarity, no damage. It is tall and is on matrix.

TOPAZ5 - Topaz
$ 65.00 (=~ ¥ 9595.20) SOLD
Minas Gerais, Brazil
miniature - 3.6 x 2.4 x 2.0 cm

Here is a solid, blue topaz crystal. It was the best crystal from a lot purchased years ago. It is undamaged, it has some natural etching that makes it interesting. It weighs 32.5 grams.

"5d" pic is a top down image. It looks a lot bluer in low light, as it is mostly transparent.
