REDBERYL2 - Red Beryl on rhyolite
$ 235.00 SOLD
Violet Claims, Wah Wah mountains, Utah
miniature - 3.2 x 2.7 x 2.1 cm

The red beryl crystal is both gemmy and has a bright, glassy lustre.  It's intense color really "pops." The primary Red Beryl is 7 mm x 5 mm.

APATITE4 - Apatite on Quartz (rough and cut)
$ 395.00 SOLD NET
Mercado Mine, Durango, Mexico
small cabinet - 6.5 x 5.0 x 5.0 cm

The specimen is aesthetically "placed," within a nest of boytroidal Quartz. The crystal is gemmy and terminated. Because this location involves collapsed geological conditions, finding a terminated Apatite that is oriented vertically is virtually impossible. I've looked through the stock of the primary two miners for over 13 years, and this specimen has been one of the finest for overall aesthetics. The internal gemminess is wonderfully complimented by the 16.5 internally clean square cushion facetted Apatite from the same Mine. The stone was cut by Michael Davis, an experienced American cutter in the Cincinnati area. There is a tiny chip out of a corner of the Apatite crystal, that doesn't catch the eye. 99.9% of material from this area is damaged.

TOURM19 - Boytroidal Tourmaline
$ 495.00 SOLD
Magok, near Momeik, Burma
miniature - 3.8 x 3.8 x 3.4 cm

Boytroidal meaning "grape-like," Tourmaline from Burma has become more scarce over the last 5 years, due primarily to the oppressive political regime of Burma (aka Myanmar). This attractive Rubellite Tourmaline is well-balanced and large as far as these examples are concerned. It has a black core, and the red overgrowth creates a neat effect. It's in pristine condition, without any dings. It comes mounted on a 1.5 inch acrylic base. The fourth pic is from the top down.

AMAZONITE1 - Amazonite and Smoky Quartz on Clevelandite
$ 350.00 SOLD
Snowy Pocket, Smoky Hawk Mine, Florissant, Teller County, Colorado
cabinet - 11.0 x 8.5 x 6.0 cm

This is a good example of Amazonite and Smoky Quartz from Colorado. The color of the Amazonite is a rich green (with a hint of blue). The Quartz is in reasonable condition, with one that is chipped on the right side. There is one small broken spot on the amazonite (lower left side), but overall for the color and contrast (as well as reasonable price) this is a good deal.

Quartz Var. Rose Quartz Var. Rose Quartz Var. Rose

ROSE2 - Quartz Var. Rose "Scepter"
$ 99.00 SOLD
Galiléia, Doce valley, Minas Gerais, Brazil
small cabinet - 6.1 x 2.7 x 1.2 cm

This is a strange form of Rose Quartz. There is a primary growth of clear quartz, with numerous overgrowths of Rose Quartz. There is a definitive sceptering effect happening at the top of the primary clear Quartz. I don't see any damage on the piece at all, it is a floater and it's crystallized all around.

CELESTITE1 - Celestite
$ 125.00 SOLD
Monroe Co., Michigan
cabinet - 14.2 x 7.0 x 3.1 cm

This is a substantial Celestite crystal! It weighs over 800 grams / 1 lb 12 ozs. It is bi-colored a gold and blue color and it is in excellent shape. There is some minor chipping to the edges. These are not on the market, only occasionally coming out in a collection.

FLUORITE7 - Fluorite on matrix
$ 1500.00 SOLD
Yaogangxian Mine, Yizhan co., Chenzhou city, HuNan province, China
cabinet - 11 x 10 x 4.5 cm

This beautiful Fluorite on matrix from Hunan province comes mounted on a custom lucite base (with name and location printed on the base). Steve Dowell acquired this from Collector's Edge, several years ago when he had also purchased a couple of rhodochrosites. The Fluorite cube is 3 cm on an edge and has a delightful electric teal blue and purple zoning to it. As pictured in the fifth image, the top-down angle shows how the cube is crystallized on the back with tabular Calcites. It also has an interpenetrating twin on the lower right side of the cube. It has a good bright luster. It's in fine condition, with all edges sharp and exact except for the lower front, which has a tiny cleavage (minor, and evident in most pics, no big deal). I included the original Collector's edge label and price.

SPESSARTINE3 - Spessartine and Smoky Quartz
$ 1850.00 SOLD
Tongbei Area, Fujian Province, China
cabinet - 10 x 8 x 5.2 cm

This is a very unique specimen of contrasting red, bright Spessartine garnets with white Albite, and deeply colored, gemmy smoky Quartz crystals. Framed in the center of the piece are twinning garnets 1.6 x 1.1 cm that makes the piece exceptional. Super aesthetic, and in pristine condition. I've included Collector's Edge original label with their price.

QUARTZ18 - Quartz, Var. Smoky-Amethyst enhydro
$ 99.00 SOLD
Ambatondrazaka, Toamasina Province, Madagascar
small cabinet - 5.5 x 3.2 x 3.0 cm

This cool Quartz has an embedded scepter on it! It already has amazing internal characteristics with internal caverns, and a trapped water zone with moving gas bubble. As if that's not enough, there's the pristine scepter stuck alongside it. It's in good condition with a few "scuffs," as Quartz from Madagascar often has. This would go well next to a herkimer diamond, in someone's Quartz collection.
