AQUA13 - Beryl Var. Aquamarine
$ 245.00 (=~ € 229.13) SOLD
Tres Barras, Minas Gerais, Brazil
small cabinet - 6.7 x 1.6 x 1.5 cm

A pretty classic Brazilian Aqua crystal. This one has a gemmy light blue color with internal hollow "lines" running from the termination down the length, which gives it a "cat's eye effect of an internal silver sheen. It weighs 26.8 grams. It's in great shape with no damage. Comes with a label from Luis Leite.

TOPAZ10 - Topaz
$ 265.00 (=~ € 247.84) SOLD
Medina, Minas Gerais, Brazil
small cabinet - 8.2 x 3.6 x 2.3 cm

This hefty crystal stands on its own over 3 1/2 inches tall. It has a light greenish-blue color, although generally speaking it is quite transparent and has a second crystal joining it, with no damage (ok, one tiny chip along one edge at the base, no big deal). It comes with a Luis Leite label. Hard to find good topaz crystals that aren't totally damaged.

It weighs 106 grams.

SPINEL4 - Spinel (rough and cut)
$ 165.00 (=~ € 154.31)
Mogok, Sagaing District, Mandalay Division, Burma (Myanmar)
thumbnail - 1.4 x 1.4 x 1.0 cm

The crystal is a rare Mackle twin habit. On one face of the octohedron two twinned spinel crystals have grown. So its actually three intergrown spinels that weigh 9.90 carats. I've paired it with a facetted spinel that weighs .48 carats (.6 x .4 cm). No visible dings or damage (there are natural "contacts," in the form as it grows typically in marble).

RHODOCHROSITE4 - Rhodochrosite on matrix
$ 195.00 (=~ € 182.37) SOLD NET
Uchucchacua Mine, Oyon Prov., Lima Dept., Peru
small cabinet - 7.8 x 5.0 x 4.3 cm

Production on this mine I've been told is closed. True or not, there hasn't been any real production for years on the market. This piece gives a lot of "bang for the buck," given the rhodos are a good red-pink color and the crystals are sizeable. some of it is a little blocky, with a little cleavage on one side, but overall in good shape. The largest crystal is 2.5 cm. The best crystal is about 2 cm. The color saturation in the pics is just a touch better than the piece itself.

It weighs over 300 grams (10.6 ozs)

This complete Kunzite was found in the Kahuna II pocket in december of 2010. It has a lilac-pink transparent color, with a richer purple hue down the c axis   as pictured. 99% damage free, with only a miniscule cleavage plane (less than 1 cm of the small length edge) of the overall length of over 7 cm. (unless you know to look for it you won't see it). An attractive piece.

It weighs 43.7 grams.

HESSONITE8 - Garnet Var. Hessonite
$ 465.00 (=~ € 434.88) SOLD
Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos, Quebec, Canada
miniature - 3.2 x 3 x 1.5 cm

Here is a honey of a hessonite. The largest crystal is 1.4 cm in diameter. the other ones around it are over 1 cm in diameter, all are gem-quality with an  excellent orange-cognac color. The five larger crystals are well framed by many tiny hessonites on the top and bottom, and even wrap around the back side (pictured above) where there are five more larger garnets. It sits just right by itself, and has a bright attractive lustre. Good ones like this are few and far between (great color, clarity and condition). A great miniature with no damage.

VESUVIANITE3 - Vesuvianite
$ 175.00 (=~ € 163.67) SOLD
Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos, Quebec, Canada
thumbnail - 3 x 2.9 x 2 cm

This beautiful Vesuvianite has rich colors of purple and yellow. The lustre is bright and shiny with a wide contrast of crystal sizes (up to 1.1 cm long). It looks great from all sides (as pictured). They are mostly small at the base leading up to several larger crystals wrapping around the top of the cluster. There is almost no production if any at all anymore at the Jeffrey Quarry. Overall in great condiiton with one small spot on the backside where a small crystal is missing.
