This beautiful Creedite is three spherical clusters linked together. It is asthetic and bright and has a small blue, gemmy fluorite thrown infor good measure. It's in great condition, as it is crystallized all around (floater).

Although the mineral Creedite is common, excellent examples are not. It's in fine condition, esp. since virtually all creedites are damaged (many occur on the ceiling of the mine and have to be pried loose with a pole and then hopefully caught as they fall (like spiked coconuts falling - yikes!). Creedites are found in a highly mineralized clay (that affects their color), within a Breccia Pipe, that had injected hot solution that later crystallized as Creedite. Mining these is fraught with danger, as cave-ins are quite common, and have finished recent production (according to Mike New).

This quartz is very bright and lustrous. The termination is totally sharp and free of damage. It has a contact in the back, which actually creates interesting relief inside the crystal when you look at it head-on. It's a light citrinewith an interesting form in great condition.

DANBURITE6 - Danburite rough and cut

Danburite is found in a Tin Mine in Mexico. The miners that bring them out are apparently quite rough with them, as 98% of all the crystals are dinged. The crystal's termination is pristine, overall it is in good shape. It is roughly thumb size. It has a light pink cast to it.

The stone was faceted by Michael Davis, a well known american cutter. It weighs over 12.5 carats, it is a clean (flawless) stone that is extraordinarily bright due to its emerald cushion cut, and the fact that Danburite has a higher refractory index than diamond. I find good danburite rough once every few years, then I give it to Mike to cut beautiful stones. I then find a matching crystal that is in good condition. The stone would retail for between $40 and $60 per carat ($625 value).

EMERALD7 - Beryl Var. Emerald

The Emerald crystal is 9mm wide by 7mm tall by approx. 9mm deep. It's very bright green, and the crystal is deep into the matrix, so the color is rich and it pulls you into it. There must be a carat+ stone easy if you faceted it. It's well terminated and really pops from across the room. A classic columbian emerald. It comes mounted on an 1` 1/2" acrylic base.

SUGILITE1 - Sugilite with Aegerine

Here is an excellent specimen of crystallized Sugilite from the new find at the N'Chwaning III mine. For years Sugilite has been found at the Wessels Manganese mine, in massive, non-crystallized seams of solid purple. This was a relatively small pocket at the new location. For the size few were any better than this one. The sugilite has that electric purple quality with fine fibrous needles. I have seen pricing from other dealers has been higher than $1500 for a piece this nice. Comes mounted on a one inch square acrylic base.

TOURM51 - Tourmaline var. Indicolite with Lepidolite

This is a solid, gemmy tourmaline with purple Lepidolite. The top crystal is double terminated, and overall it is a bright crystal with the classic Santa Rosa color. It's just under 2 inches long, and is pristine except for a small contact near the base where lepidolite had been growing on it, and came off at some point. Gemmy tourmalines from Brazil have become scarce on the marketplace.

MIMETITE5 - Mimetite

These classic mimetites were mined in the 70's. Good ones are very valuable. This one came out of a collection in Arizona, it has a rich orange-yellow color with bright boytroidal nobs. The top right corner has slight breakage behind the nob, but cannot been seen when viewing it head-on. A good miniature of a hard-to-find location.
