QUARTZ63 - Quartz Var. Rose
$ 2750.00 (=~ ¥ 405950.88) SOLD NET
Pitorra Claim, Laranjeiras, Galileia, Doce Valley, Minas Gerais, Brazil
small cabinet - 7.25 x 5 x 2.5 cm

This is the best Rose quartz I've ever seen in this size range. I acquired it from a european collection, and it was probably mined in the late 1970's. The color saturation is off-the-charts pink. It's a total floater (fully crystallized), and will fit into any "best-of" collection, for someone who wants a top rose quartz. It's bright, reflective and demonstrates a range of crystallization and an interesting shape (think Tiara). The largest crystal is 1.5 cm. No damage.

$ 295.00 (=~ ¥ 43547.46) SOLD
N'Chwanning III Mine, Kalahari manganese fields, Republic of South Africa
miniature - 3.3 x 2 x 1 cm

Within the last 2 years, a small pocket of crystallized Sugilite was found at the N'Chwanning III mine. Sugilite is typically found at the Wessels mine, in solid chunks, so this was an amazing discovery. Fibrous purple crystals grow in the seams of the Aegerine matrix. The Sugilite is an electric purple (daylight) that shifts to an electric magenta under incandescent light. This piece is a stunner for its size. Great as pictured from both sides in both lightings, no damage.

The Sugilite is an electric purple (daylight) that shifts to an electric magenta under incandescent light. This piece really shows the layers of the aegerine "sandwiching," the sugilite crystals. It's quite large.
