The Danburite crystal weighs 83 carats (16+grams) and the cut Danburite oval weighs 7.20 carats. Danburite crystals are notoriously damaged, and finding a sizeable one with no dings and some clarity is remarkably difficult. Danburite has a hardness of 7 - 7.5, and has a higher refractory index than a diamond, so as a cut stone it is quite sparkly. It is a Calcium Borosilicate, and it is taken out of a zinc mine by enterprising Mexican miners. Lately production has been very poor, with primarily "lechosa," or "milky" crystals being found. The entire chizel shaped termination is pristine. There is some side damage on the piece, but the clarity and intact termination makes up for that. I got the cut stone out of an old collection, it was facetted around 20 years ago. the price was right, so I'm passing it along. The two pics show the front and back of the crystal.

TOURM10 - Tourmaline var. Elbaite on Clevelandite

This piece shows the classic composition of Tourmaline, with Lepidolite (purplish rosettes on the Tourmaline), and white Clevelandite. This trifecta of minerals is indicative of fine specimens mined at the Pederneira. The tourmaline is a rich Green color overall with sections showing a pink core. It has a bright surface, and is without dings. It has only a few spots of natural contact, where the tourmalines grew against something in the pocket that is now gone.

LARIMAR2 - Larimar aka Blue Pectolite

Larimar aka Blue Pectolite, is similar to petrified wood. It is only found in the Dominican Republic, and shares its distinctive color with the Caribean ocean. This piece is cutting rough quality, and a slab of this quality is not easily found on the market as many cabs could be cut from it, and made into jewelry. it weighs 43.4 grams. I like it as a specimen, it is not polished, it doesn't seem to need it since the color of this quality is so distinctive and attractive.

TOPAZ2 - Topaz with Hyaline Opal on Matrix

This is a cute miniature, showing Topaz on both sides of the matrix, with the Hyaline opal present on the primary crystal. I found this in our "unprepped," area of stock we purchased from Hawthorneden. This piece was part of a lot purchased in the 70's. This material has not been prevalent on the market for quite a long time. On the back side of the primary crystal, there is a very tiny ding that is invisible when displaying it normally.

MALACHITE2 - Malachite Pseudomorph after Azurite with Wulfenite

The market is familiar with Malachite pseudos from Tsumeb, Bizbee, and most recently from Millpillas, Mexico. This is the first I've ever seen from this location in Western Australia. It is uncommon to find on the market today. What I really like about it, are the little gemmy Wulfenite crystals "sprinkled," over the piece for good measure. It has a good lustre, and the original form of the Azurites are obvious. It is without any damage.

FLUORITE4 - Fluorite

This flashy piece showcases two different growths of Fluorite on matrix. The first is a golden brown layer of uniformly sized Fluorites. Then a secondary growth of bright purple-zoned Fluorite grew over the first. This unusual combination is noteworthy for the Auglaize quarry and hard to come by. Most of the Ohio Fluorites one sees are dark, or brown. Having bright purple in combination with the brown is a treat. It is in fine condition, without any visible damage.
